- Australian/Vogel Award - promoted by The Australian newspaper and sponsored by Vogel's Bread
- Children's Book Awards in Australia - lists thirty-two awards and four major international awards
- Crichton Award - aims to recognise and encourage new talent in the field of Australian children's book illustration
- Crow Award - awarded to writers of outstanding children's reading for the purpose of promoting children's literature
- Miles Franklin Literary Award - presented annually for a published novel or play portraying Australian life in any of its phases
- Nan Chauncy Award - honours people who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of Australian children's literature
- New Zealand:
- Esther Glen Award - given to a writer who is a New Zealand citizen or resident for the book that is considered to be the most distinguished contribution to literature for children and young adults
- Goodman Fielder Wattie Book Awards - established in 1968 as the Wattie Book Awards, they became known as the Goodman Fielder Wattie Book Awards, due to a merger of Wattie’s and Goodman Fielder, after which Montana Wines took over the sponsorship of these awards in 1994, and became known as the Montana Book Awards
- Russell Clark Award - recognises excellence in children's book illustration and is given to a New Zealand citizen or resident for the most distinguished pictures or illustrations in a children's or young adult's book, with or without text. Non-fiction as well as fiction titles are eligible
- Te Kura Pounamu: Maori Book Award - presented to the author of a book for young people written in the Maori language
