Fish farming has been carried out for generations in tiny lakes and streams around the world. However, the idea is rapidly getting out of hand. With visions of wealth dancing in the heads of fishermen and politicians, the consequences of reality is pushed deeper into the subconscious. While advocates are quick to say that escapees are few and far between, the opposite is happening. Hundreds of thousands of fish are known to have escaped to taint wild species. This situation is not like recalling any other faulty product. As soon as GE fish are out of their pens and roaming free in the oceans of the world – that is it. No second chance.
