Introduction
This category locates the nine forest regions of Canada, which cover all of the country except the northern tundra, and briefly describes the trees that are native to this country. Each page lists the species of one family. Such information as the English and Latin names, the height of a species, the size and appearance of its leaf, the size of its fruit, and its habitat within the country are given. However, this information is only basic. For more in-depth information, the reader should check the book listed below or a similar reference in a public or academic library.
Although some information has been obtained from the internet, most of it came from Native Trees of Canada, 8th edition. It was compiled by R. C. Hosie and published by Fitzhenry and Whiteside in 1990. We highly recommend this book.
