Introduction
Environmental issues are fundamentally important. No longer can they be swept aside as radical thinking by extremists. Plant and animal species are disappearing at an alarming rate; air and water quality is poor to suspect and diminishing as we speak. Good, wholesome, organic food is not available to everyone. "Food" that is readily available is not generally fit to eat and contributes to significant health problems. The land has been polluted to such an extent that it will take hundreds of years to cleanse the soil and, in some cases, much longer because of some chemicals will remain forever. The health of nations depends on sound stewardship of all resources. However, selfishness and greed still reign and are causing the deterioration of the planet and all its inhabitants. As the tidal wave of humanity floods every aspect of the environment, it is destroying every living thing in its path.
The links, in this section, have been gathered together according to regions: Vancouver Island, British Columbia, the rest of Canada, and those outside the country. We started with these areas because of their proximity to where some of us now reside but will eventually include more in other areas within Canada as well as without as there are many good US and European sites which will be expanded upon over time. There are also good books written about the environment that we will also list. In addition to environmental organizations, we are also very interested in businesses who specialize in ecologically responsible products. If you wish to have your organization, business, or book included, please Contact Us with the appropriate information and URL, if applicable, and we will be more than happy to include you. Needless to say, this area is not complete and will be an on-going project.
So, enjoy the search and, in the process, learn more about what you can do to help save our environment. Without your individual response today, there will be no tomorrow for your grandchildren to enjoy. And this is no exaggeration.
