Parliament is unicameral and is located in Bangui.
From 1993 to 1998, the National Assembly had 85 members, who were elected to five-year terms by popular vote. Since 1998, the National Assembly has 109 members, who are elected to five-year terms by popular vote. In March 2003, the National Assembly was dissolved.
