Parliament
Parliament (Oireachtas) is bicameral and is located in Dublin.
The Dáil Eireann (House of Representatives) has 166 members, who are elected to five-year terms by popular vote. The Seanad Eireann (Senate) has 60 members who serve five-year terms. 11 are appointed by the prime minister. 6 are chosen by graduates of National University of Ireland. The rest are elected from panels of candidates of 5 fields. It is mainly an advisory body. The president is also a part of the parliament.
